basyskom GmbH from Darmstadt and Qt Development Frameworks formerly Trolltech concluded an extensive partner contract to intensify the cooperation and optimize the fulfillment of customer requirements. Both partner share a longtime cooperation regarding the graphical development environment Qt. Especially for Embedded Display System, mobile technology and Desktop the partner developed innovative solutions in the past, using Qt Development Frameworks.

basysKom is glad to announce the membership in OSADL eG. OSADL is a consortium of companies which operate in the area of mechanical engineering, automatisation and embedded devices. The common goal of the members is to push forward the development of Open Source software in these industries.

Main focus is on:

• Making Linux drivers available for embedded devices
• Real-time capability of the Linux mainstream kernel
• Organisation of shared trade events in order to advertise the Open Source idea

Darmstadt, 9 June 2006 - basysKom, open source specialist and expert in the Linux based K Desktop Environment (KDE), advises on one of the most important projects – according to the Regional Tax Office in Hanover, Germany – in the history of IT at the tax authorities in Lower Saxony 1. The project has entered into its peak phase. 12,000 desktop systems are being migrated from Solaris x86 to Linux and KDE as the new graphical user interface. basysKom completed configuration of the new KDE desktop.
